Gardner surprised me for my birthday a few months back, with a trip to….AUSTIN . TX. So we hit the road on Friday to make the quick 2 hour drive to our neighboring city. It was our first visit which was exciting. We loved the diversity of the city….taking away a rambling of descriptive terms for the city: traditional, hip, modern design, urban, high tech…… A city that is filled with a love of great music and a combo of western meets modern.
Our visit was in January and for the first time, I celebrated a birthday weekend in 70 degree weather. Thankfully we packed our running shoes because we hit the pavement and ventured over to Town Lake….how awesome it was! It is a lake that borders downtown that has over 10 miles worth of biking and hiking trails. We were loving the views and weather, which allowed us to run over 6 miles! I am thankful I can occasionally still run those distances even as I celebrated another year older.
To top off the weekend, we made an appropriate AUSTIN purchase……a great pair of boots. We entered the store just to look at all the styles, colors, varieties….and we later walked out with 2 boxes for HIS and HER.
He picked his + I picked mine. Then when we met back up in the store to show each other the ones we liked…we realized they were the same classic design just different color of leathers. Great minds think alike!
We rushed to our hotel to try them on…..ah the comfort of a great leather on a stylish boot. Now we had official boots after moving to the big state of TEXAS. They have become our favorite shoes and we will have them a lifetime.
LOVE THIS!!! How adorable are the two of you and your new kicks! 🙂 Love the boots, Shannon! Loved Austin too when we visited! Such a great city!
